Today Addie Russell ventured to the floor of the NYS Assembly for the first time to hear David Paterson. She had a strong Northcountry flavored comment.
“Today the governor spoke of weathering the storm, something we in the North Country know a lot about. But something we also know a lot about is the hard work that goes into tackling tough issues head on. The picture is bleak, but there is hope and promise, and with hard work there will be reward for the state and all North Country residents. I commend the governor for not sugar coating the state’s fiscal crisis and look forward to working with him and all of my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to address the problem. Money will be spread thin, but I believe sound investments in the North Country’s economy can be a catalyst for helping the state rebound from this crisis, and I will tirelessly advocate to make this a reality.”
