The SUNY system has a new officer-in-charge, Vice Chancellor and Secretary of the University, John J. O'Connor. As officer-in-charge, O'Connor will fulfill the role held by interim Chancellor John Clark, who announced his resignation for Wednesday.
Clark has served as interim chancellor for 18 months, more than the six-month time frame he was expected to fill the position for. O'Connor will take over the duties of chancellor while the SUNY board of trustees will continue to search for a permanent chancellor through its Chancellor Search Committee.
